Okay, so getting back to this poll, it seems like we have a few votes, although some of them are confusing.
Pathos: 3 and 2 half votes
Conjecture: 2 half votes
Dan and Adina are the half votes for both; if you could clarify one or the other, that would be great. Also, everyone else jump in and vote and we'll go with the majority.
Ha-- I guess I will also fall on the side of my own idea-- conjecture. I like the alliteration and i think it more fully embraces those creative writers who might not fully embrace emotion as the primary focus of their creative pursuits.
Conjecture reminds me too much of the legal term. But Pathos means to evoke sorrow, pity and compassion. So... neither. I don't want to be called a pity evoking group of writers and I don't like lawyers or the legal system. I'm writing in Augur for my vote.
When my creative work evokes some emotions/feeling of compassion and tenderneness in the reader,I feel I deserve the name- a creative writer.( but these emotions don't necessarily include pity and fear).
