I have to admit with a little shame and embarrassment that I am suffering from some serious writer's block right now and I'm not quite sure how to remedy it. I've heard that when you're writing a story and you're trying to take it in a direction that it's not meant to go in, you get stuck. Perhaps on my part, a lot of this is just bad planning. But I'm even finding it impossible to come up with new poems, something I haven't had a problem with in a while. What do you guys do when you have writer's block? Do you have any tricks or suggestions? I've been trying to compost some ideas, but composting is only getting me so far. Can anyone help me?

There's no shame in suffering
There's no shame in suffering in writer's block. I don't usually from terrible bouts of it but my best friend can get really hung up on it. I usually just write through the pain. Since I write a novel I usually have big plot points planned out, it's just the filler junk inbetween. Maybe you should just take a break and watch some tv, listen to some music, get a new book. You'd be quite surprised what can inspire you. Or just work on a different scene, work on some new writing, just do something fun to get you back in the writing mood.
