Hello, I have a question.

Hello, how's going on?

I have a question about my writing appointment.

A few days ago, I didn't show at writing center despite I made an appointment.

I'm sorry, and I know that's my fault. Then, I forgot to have an appointment.

By the way! After that time, my id is blocked. Is this a penalty?

I didn't know there is a penalty for no show.

This summer I take two writing classes, and I'm an international student so I'm not good at writing English.

It means that I liberally need help for my writing. Seriously!

I wonder if there is a method to solve this problem or not.

You are correct to assume that your inability to make an appointment has something to do with not showing up for your previous appointment.

The rule is that once a client misses three appointments, he or she can no longer make appointments at the Writing Center. If a client makes an appointment that he or she cannot attend, he or she should cancel it as soon as they know they will not be able to attend. Clients can cancel their own appointments by going into "Schedule an Appointment" and clicking on appointments they have made for the future. In the dialogue box that appears, the client can click on the box next to "cancel this appointment" and save the changes.

It is a serious problem when clients do not show up for their appointments. The Writing Center is a busy place trying to serve the entire university community. When someone is signed up to work with a consultant, the consultant has to wait 15 minutes for the client to show up and cannot get other work done that would benefit the Writing Center, or help other writers like yourself.

I hope you understand just how serious this problem is for the Writing Center, but I don't want to make you feel too bad. While it is important that clients are responsible about showing up for their appointments or canceling them in advance if they will not be able to come, we really do want to be a resource for all clients.

I would suggest you talk to the Writing Centier Director Trixie Smith or the Writing Center Assistant Director Dianna Baldwin. Their contact information is available on the website.

If you find you that you can't make your appointment, you can also call the center to cancel, 432-3610. The receptionist will be happy to help you cancel and reschedule.

Do come see me or Dianna if you've been blocked so we can take care of the problem.
